I'm interested in contacting anyone who knows anything of the history of the Lake View property at Bengworden or of the Giles family that established this property in the mid 1800s. I believe there were 4 brothers who originally had a hand in establishing the property and that at least some of them were earlier involved in a fairly substantial overland trek from the Pentland Hills to Bengorden. I have a feeling it was one of the properties my father looked at in 1928 with a view to purchasing - but I have nothing other than a memory of conversations with him over my lifetime. He is gone now so I can't confirm or deny it.
