Hello Elaine, Sorry I am not related to the JOINER family, but I am related to the LAY family, who were in the Orbost area. My great Uncle Fred Lay who died aged 98 in July 2001 and was greatly interested in family history, told the story that the LAY (not sure which generation, either Uncle Freds or his parents) and the JOINER families had the Joiner & Lay Carrying business, (horse and wagons) taking goods from the boats that came into Cunninghame (now Lakes Entrance) to various distribution points.
