Hi Listers, I've just recently discovered and joined the Lindenow and Gippsland lists. I'm investigating my father Hughie Morrison's family history on his mother's side (the Anton and Harper families of Gippsland). But as my father died at 40 years, I would be pleased to hear from anyone in the Lindenow/Fernbank/Glenaladale/Bairnsdale areas who might have photos or information about Hughie who was raised on a farm at Iguana Creek, went to Glenaladale Estate School, played cricket and football for Glenaladale and Lindenow but died of cancer in 1953 leaving behind a wife and two small daughters (and a third about to be born), on a small farm near the Fingerboards at Fernbank. I'm trying to put together a profile of him, including his youth, sporting life, army service in WWII, brief marriage to my mother and our family life on the farm before his death. I found his 'Lindenow Football Club Premiers 1933' photograph in the 1992 publication 'History of Lindenow and District' by Judy Richardson and Margaret Treasure. Any information would be welcome.
