    3. MEDIA RELEASE The Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies is to have a new home in the new year - the 1930s National Trust building, the Box Hill Town Hall. The Whitehorse Council approached the Institute with the offer some months ago, and arrangements have been made for the lease of the premises, to the satisfaction of both parties. The Institute saw the location as a solution to the problem of lack of space in their current Library, which they have outgrown in just four years. The new venue is 5 times larger than their current one and will allow many activities to be carried out simultaneously, which at present is impossible. President Don Grant says this will enable us to provide better services and facilities for our members. We will also be working alongside the Box Hill Historical Society, which should complement each others' activities. The new premises will allow for a large volunteers' work area, lunch area, more fiche and film readers, larger books area, separate office, reception, booksales plus bright and spacious classrooms. Box Hill Area Meetings will be held in the large and comfortable meeting room. Further information may be available at the AIGS' Open Day, World Vision on Saturday 23rd October.
