Dianne, you said >Ethel did die in Omeo, but is not buried here (I am secretary for the Omeo Cemetery Trust). Do you know why she was in Omeo?< I wish I did know! I was kind of hoping someone would write back to say something like 'the Duncan family was an old Omeo family' and then I would know why. But no-one has. Ethel is an offshoot from my direct line, so I know nothing about her. The only family reason for her being in Gippsland, that I know of, would be if she kept in contact with her cousins on the Guy side. They would be descendants of her grandfather's brother, Edward Remington Guy (1836-1910). He had a large family, who seem to have stayed around Gippsland - Crooked River, Cassilis, Grant, Talbotville, etc. Thanks to our listowner, I am in touch with one of his descendants who lives near Maffra. On the other hand, maybe Ethel was in Omeo for a holiday and just happened to die there! Thanks for writing and letting me know that she is not buried in Omeo. Wendy
