Maree asked: why do i keep getting unsubscribe emails , i would like to stay on please???? maree ============================================================ For you, and for others that may be interested, the reason these messages appear on the list is that people are trying to unsubscribe from the list, but mistakenly use the posting address to send their unsubscribe request to rather than AUS-VIC-GIPPSLAND-L-request@rootsweb.com or AUS-VIC-GIPPSLAND-D-request@rootsweb.com (whichever is appropriate). As such, the computer just sends it out to the list as if it is a normal post. They shouldn't really occur, but they do on all lists. We are not all experts, and there are a lot of beginners out there. As a reminder, a lot of information, including how to unsubscribe or how to change between list/digest modes was explained in the 'welcome' message everybody received when they joined the list. If they have lost that message, it is on the 'FAQ' page on the support website at http://homepages.rootsweb.com/~surreal/AVG/ In other words, just ignore them. It is only when you get an email saying 'you have been unsubscribed', that you need to worry. *grin* ========================================================== Returning messages: Just a reminder, which I send out every now and then, that if you are sending one-line comments or enquiries back to ONE person, that you should do it off-list by typing in their address, rather than sending it to the whole list. If the message is of interest to the whole list, please check that you have highlighted and deleted the majority of the previous message, rather than sending the whole, large message back to the whole list or digest again.
