Hi listers, This is rather a long story so I would appreciate a reply direct from any Gippslanders who may be able to help. I am Jack Lang's nephew and Jack's mother was Mary Whelan. She arrived in Victoria shortly after her brother Dennis, who later settled - and died - in Bairnsdale. He was unmarried. I have a few details about him which I would be happy to pass on to anyone interested. But here is my main problem. Dennis had a sister Margaret who lived with him for a while. In one of Jack Lang's books he mentions going to stay with Uncle Dennis and his auntie sewed money into the hem of his coat before he returned to his family in Sydney. Is anyone willing or able to find any details about Margaret for me? There are a few shipping arrivals that could fit but I can't find a death or a marriage.
