    3. Hi List! I am hoping that someone on the list may be able to give me some suggestions on how to find out more about the above listed people. They are my great grandparents but have been the bane of my genie research for many many years! Frederick William Holmes and Christina Smith were married in the Bairnsdale Registry Office on Dec 21, 1907. Frederick was aged 27, a labourer, says he was born in Braybrook, resided in Iguana Creek and that his parents were unknown. Christina was aged 25, home duties, says she was born in Lilydale, resided in Iguana Creek and that her father was George Smith, a mason. The couple went on to have 4 children Ruby born in 1908, Isabel in 1910, Frederick William in 1911 and Margaret in 1915, the first 2 in Bairnsdale and the second 2 in Yarragon. Shortly after Margaret was born, Frederick is believed to have walked out on the family (did he go to war??) never to be heard from again. Christina and the 4 children moved to Yarragon at some stage. In 1919, Christina died at the Amhurst Sanatarium of tuberculosis aged 35 and is buried at Amhurst. Death Certificate states that her usual residence was Yarragon, her parents were George Smith and Christina, that she had married at Farmbank aged 22 to Frederick William Holmes and that there were 4 children of the marriage. I have tried over the years to find a birth for both Frederick (sometimes also known as William) and Christina to go back a little further on this line, but to no avail. There was a story that Christina's father, George owned land in Sale but I am not sure on this. Sorry this email is so long but if anyone can offer any advice or information or perhaps are related (well it is Christmas and miracles happen sometimes!!) I would really love to hear from them. Merry Christmas to all Debbie Down
