Hi I was hoping that someone might have some information, or access to newspaper records, which might shed some light on the following: My G.Grandparents Thomas and Margaret Black (and their seven sons) had apple orchards in the Pakenham/Pakenham Upper area in the early 1900's, and when 4 of the sons went of to serve in WWI (and apple prices dropped), the family's newly built 2-storey house was forced to be sold at auction, and mysteriously was burnt to the ground a couple of weeks later. If there is any record of the auction and/or fire, I would dearly love the details (I believe that there is a 'Black Lane' running off the Pakenham-Gembrook Rd? and it was possibly at the end of this that the house stood). Regards Ken Black
