Hi Barry and List, I thought I had heard of a "B Station" for Orbost, but cannot find reference to it. It does not appear in either Pastoral Pioneers of Port Phillip by Billis and Kenyon, nor in Victorian Squatters by Spreadborough and Anderson. The practice of splitting stations was reasonaly common at one time (Hence there is a Glenfalloch A under the Glenmaggie Weir, no-where near what we know as Glenfalloch). This was to allow the squatters to use a loophole to maximise their right to take up freehold pre-emptive rights. Sir William Clarke, who held Orbost around this time, would certainly have used the practice if there was an opportunity. I have looked at my index to Personalities and Stories of the Orbost District by Mary Gilbert, and cannot find any reference there either, nor any to the Mitchells.
