Can anyone help with this request I received from a lady in England? Dorothy I'm trying to find out about my great uncle Joseph AIRTON, his wife Maria and sons Eddie and George. They emigrated from U.K. to Australia in 1912 and were living at 29 Chomley Street, Windsor, Melbourne in September/October 1912. My late father was under the impression that Joseph later became Lord Mayor of Melbourne but I sent an e-mail to Melbourne city council and they don't know of him. They did say that he might have been a mayor of one of the suburbs of Melbourne, but they had no way of checking that. I've also sent an e-mail to the main library in Victoria to see if they know of him. I work at Blackpool Central Library in Lancashire.
