Dear Listers, I would like to thank all of the kind people who have given me information regarding my late cousin's late brother-in-law, Dr. George Dixon HEDLEY (1817-1879). I have managed to acquire a copy of that marvellous book 'From These Beginnings' and have found many references to Dr. HEDLEY. I have also begun to learn about your lovely area and the trials and tribulations of the early British settlers.
