Can anyone help this lady. Dorothy I am not requiring you to look up anything but rather advise on how I can help someone. I write from Liverpool,England. Our family has in its possession a photograph of the above Australian soldier taken on Easter Sunday 1918 in France he is with an Uncle of mine Danny Lucas who was from Waterford, Ireland and serving in an Irish regiment. They were both killed in action and are buried a few miles from each other. There is another Australian solder called Smith with them. The three appear to have been good friends. Danny sent the photo to his Mother back in Ireland - he was never to return. John McAwley was the son of a Wm.McAwley of 35 Boyda Street, Burnley, Melbourne. His occupation on his enlistment form is Publisher. I thought there might be someone somewhere who would love a copy of this photo for their family archives. Can you advise how I could go about this?
