Hi List, Have been away, so am catching up!!!! I am trying to shed some light on a "nurse Cocking" who appears on the "teachers" side of the Madalya WWI Honour Roll, currently held at Port Albert Maritime Museum. Madalya is in the Strzeleckis near Yarram, sort of around the Tarra Bulga area. I am chasing her up a little as John Pearson, who has researched Gippsland WWI nurses, cannot find a Gippsland connection for her. He knows her as having next of kin at Castlemaine. She appears to be Alice Elizabeth Cocking, born 1879 at Clunes, the daughter of William Tustin Cocking and Elizabeth Newell. Does anyone know anything about her?????
