I have yet to uncover how, why, or when my GGGrandmother (Elizabeth MEDLEY) arrived in Gippsland, BUT it was as a single woman and prior to 1843. In April 1843, at the age of 17, she travelled from Port Albert to Hobart on "Diana". Whilst in Hobart she married my GGGrandfather (Colin McLAREN) who was also visiting from Gippsland. They came back to live in Gippsland ?? at Strathfieldsaye.....Colin & Elizabeth named their daughter, born in 1844, Sarah Jane Stratford Elizabeth MEDLEY arrived in Gippsland with at least one sister, Ann Jane MEDLEY, who was only 10 at the time of Elizabeth & Colin's marriage.......I have never been able to find evidence of their parents being with them. Ann Jane MEDLEY married David Moore CAMPBELL on 25 January 1850 at ''Bushy Park''. Does anybody know anything about these early Gippsland women?????? Pam Manning
