Hi Listers Don't groan, another one, well maybe, I must leave that up to you. I have read some of the messages and articles in your archives, so I am familiar with Dr Alexander ARBUCKLE and my query has nothing at all to do with him. I am chasing an ARBUCKLE family who moved from Horton in Tasmania in 1861, for sure who came to Victoria were Margaret ARBUCKLE (nee SIMS or SIMM) with a daughter Jessie, b. 1844, perhaps a husband Dr John ARBUCKLE, b. unknown, perhaps a son John Murdock, b. 1846, perhaps another daughter Ellen Bruton, b. abt 1854. Jessie ARBUCKLE married a Henry Ryder WHEELER, b. 1838, in 1866 and she died in Sale, 1915 at the age of 70 years. Jessie had a daughter Jessie Caroline WHEELER, b. 1867, who remained unmarried and died in Caulfield in 1941. Isn't it amazing the 2 Jessie's are the only part of the family, other than a daughter Elizabeth who never left Tasmania, who I have been able to reconcile, so my request to you kind people in Gippsland for some help, please....... There appears to be a degree of certainty that they went to the Gippsland district, what is most uncertain is what became of them. As we who some family research this is the greatest of the problems encountered. In the Vic BDM's a Margaret ARBUCKLE shows marrying a Patrick Henry HARRINGTON in 1875, perhaps, Dr John ARBUCKLE was deceased by then??? Best regards David Cheek - Adelaide
