Hi Listers, My grandfather "Harry" ARCHIBALD worked in various saw mills in the Gippsland area in the late 1800`s and early 1900`s. His expertise was the installation and alignment of the saw benches that they used in the mills in that period. Are there any records of people that were employed in the mills of the period and if so where would i look for same. I don`t have the names of any of the mills and i understand that there were large numbers of them operating, but as i have discovered from family history research in the past, if you don`t try you don`t win.
