Hi Norman, That excellent book: 'The Land of the Lyre Bird', published by the Korumburra Historical Society, has a number of references to the sawmills in that area (no sign of an Archibald in the index, though). It might give you some further leads. Some of my ancestors went to the Kardella area in the early 1890s to work at the sawmills there. Best!
