Possible!! In the township of Stirling, Mr Stewart was a publican in the early 1880s and by 1895 Margaret Stewart was the licencee of the Retreat Hotel. Looking at references that I have, there is no reference to Stewart Creek, but there is an un-named contributry to the Haunted Stream. NRE or Parks map will show this and confirm its name.
