    1. GORDON FAMILY, SALE
    2. Malcolm Gordon
    3. I am researching CHARLES GORDON and his wife ANN CROPPER.( my great, great grandparents) Charles and Anne arrived in Sale in 1856 after 5 years in Tasmania. He was originally from Edinburgh and she was from Liverpool. They were living in Reeves St on the corner of McArthur St. in 1866.(the house is still there). Charles and his wife both ran a business in Raymond St, he had a Livery Stable and she had a grocery business. They had a son GEORGE GORDON in 1856 who married ERMINE BARAHAM BROWN in 1878.(both events in Sale) They had eight children of whom I have all the details. CHARLES GORDON died in Sale in 1890 and I have located his headstone in the Sale Cemetery.I can however find no details of his wife ANN GORDON (nee CROPPER). The inscription on Charles' headstone indicates that a niece MARY (wife of JOHN SAWL) joined him in 1920. I am seeking any information about MRS ANN GORDON such as when and where she died. I am seeking any information on the niece MARY who was married to JOHN SAWL ?. I am seeking any information about the lives of the GORDON FAMILY in Sale. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
