I've had a query from a person not involved with this list regarding a Patrick Wilson, born in 1841 at Maffra; enquirer says there is a family tradition that he was "the first child born in East Gippsland" but at that early date I'm inclined to think that the reference may be to Maffra in NSW. There is supposed to be a connection with McMillan through his father John Wilson, listed as "labourer", though he may also have been a bullock driver. I'd appreciate any help/suggestions.
