Hi Matthew and List, Lawrence Bulter was successful in being ballotted a block in the Parish of Licola North in the "Selection to the Limits" selections of 1903. (Valley of Glens p.58) Lawrence Butler was also very active in the flood rescues of August 1891 at Glenmaggie. (Maffra Spectator, 6 August 1891) I suspect Mary Ann Curtain may be the daughter of Michael and Honora Curtain who lost their lives in the bushfires at Glenmaggie in mid January 1900. Honora is said to have gone from safety back into the house for her sewing machine. Her husband was found suffocated between the shafts of a small cart in which he was trying to take his possessions to the creek.
