Hello, new friends, Just joined and hope someone down there can help me. I am researching the life and genealogy of my father, JOHN McGINNIS WILLIAMS, who was born at Warragul in 1882. His father was JOHN WILLIAMS (born Cape Town, South Africa) who married ELLEN McGINNIS (born at Eaglehawk c. 1859) at Eaglehawk in 1877. They remained in the Bendigo area for a couple of years then later moved to WARRAGUL.. CHILDREN: SARAH (?) born 1876 died 1882 MARY ANN PHENOLIF WILLIAMS born 1878 at Bendigo JOHANNA WILLIAMS born ? dec. prior 1901 JOHN McGINNIS WILLIAMS born 1882 at Warragul JAMES WILLIAMS HENRY WILLIAM WILLIAMS born 1888 at Warragul DANIEL WILLIAMS born ? dec. prior 1901 ROBERT WILLIAMS born 1893 ELLEN WILLIAMS born 1895 CAROLINE WILLIAMS born 1897 JOHN WILLIAMS' (my grandfather) occupation was 'farmer' and 'splitter'. I do not know when arrived in Australia from South Africa, as it does not give this information on his death certificate. He died aged 70 years in 1901 at Warragul. I have details about James Williams but know nothing about my other aunts and uncles. Are there any of my Williams relatives still living in the Warragul/Gippsland area? Could someone please help me?
