    3. Jan's email about Walhalla sparked off the memory of an amusing headstone I viewed a few months ago while scrambling through the Walhalla Cemetery. It was for someone with the surname MITCHELL and also his wife Lavinia MITCHELL and his daughter NANCE were buried in the same plot. Anyway there was a little verse underneath his name that he had obviously written himself before he died and I thought it left much to the imagination as to the life of this man. OH LET MY SUDDEN DOOM A WARNING BE TO ALL ERE WHILST THOUGH BENDEST O'ER MY TOMB THOU MAY AS QUICKLY FALL It seems that there may have been a few around that he felt would gloat over his death. I noted he died July 24 1880 and he was only 34 years of age at the time. If anyone can claim this man I have a picture of the headstone but his name is chopped off at the top and Nance details chopped off at the bottom (I was trying to capture the verse). Happy to send it to any claimants. I was very impressed with Walhalla - it had a real "feel" about it and I felt like I was stepping back, also a really beautiful spot. Regards, Josie from Tassy
