    3. Hi Everyone, There are all sorts of treasures still to be found in the Local Collection at the Maffra Library. Today I was looking at the Seaton School Registers, which were handed to the Maffra Historical Society a number of years ago by Dave Aubrey. When the school closed c.1943 Mr Aubrey found the teacher who was closing the school burning the records in the paddock, and took away the Registers and Punishment Register. Seaton is near Heyfield. Full details, and a few earlier gems from Maffra Library Local Collection, are in my blog - the URL is under my signature Cheers Linda http://kapana.blogspot.com/

    3. Looking for any information on NEIL CHRISTOPHER MacMILLAN and his sister FIONA Elizabeth, born in the 1950's perhaps in N.S.W. otherwise Victoria. Neil's father, NEIL DOUGLAS MacMILLAN was an air pilot, whose helicopter hit power lines, and went down in the Werribee River, Melton South in 1960. The children's mother was PAULINE. Neil Douglas's father was NEIL, who married twice in Australia, his second wife here, was BERNICE SCHMIDT, (m. 1940) looking for any issue from this couple? NEIL (b. 1899) was married in Scotland before arriving into Australia to Isabella MICHAEL. This families descendants wish to make contact with the Australian side of their family. Neil's parents were Neil Macmillan and Ellen Paterson POLLOCK of The Parish of East Kilbride in the County of Lanark, SCOTLAND. I have checked the B.D.M's Victoria and found 1973 and 1961 deaths for both Neil's and the 1983 death of Mary, a sister of Neil. We have no other information on the Australian side of this family. Your help in connecting these family's will be gratefully accepted. Regards Kaye [email protected]

    2. Daryl Murphy
    3. Hi ! This is my first message to this list. May I (an old Cabbage Tree Creek resident, St Patrick's College, Sale, boarder) please ask SKS to do a look-up for me. I am also a descendant of Sarah DAVIDSON, daughter of William DAVIDSON and Letitia (mn unknown), born c 1817 in Scotland. Sarah DAVIDSON married William HARRISON on 17 Nov 1839 at the parish of New Monkland, County of Lanarkshire, Scotland. William and Sarah HARRISON travelled to Australia from Scotland with their children aboard the 'Herald' which embarked from the Port of Plymouth on 22 Feb 1859 and berthed at Geelong on 2 June 1859. The passengers list included William Harrison, a ploughman, aged 37 years, Sarah Harrison (nee Davidson) 36 years and with them Sarah Harrison 12 years, John 8 years and James 5 years. Listed separately in the passengers list were Elizabeth Harrison 17 years and Letitia Harrison 15 years. Sarah HARRISON married William MURPHY on 25 Apr 1865 in Melbourne. They are my great grandparents. The HARRISONS and the DAVIDSONS spent much of their lives around the goldmining township of Woods Point. William HARRISON and his daughter Sarah are buried in the Woods Point Cemetery. In my Rootsweb searching I found a Rootsweb book index entry for: 'Sarah DAVIDSON Jericho on the Jordan - A Gippsland Goldfield History, page 211'. Would someone please let me know (probably off list) what is said there about my ancestor. Regards and best wishes Daryl Francis Murphy Brisbane, QLD, Australia
