Dear List Please let me introduce myself. My name is Neil Nunn and I have only been researching my ancestors for a short time. I have found quite a bit of information in the same manner as I presume you all have. Quite a lot of my maternal ancestors were in the Geelong district. Surnames such as:- Rosser/Urquhart/Klemke/Betts/ Pyle/Squires/Taylor etc etc I thought I had found one person (whom I believe to be a member of the Geelong Society) namely Sue Wood, who left her name on the 2001 site as researching Betts/Pyle, but have been unable to locate her. I hope this is an approved method of trying to locate/contact anyone else who has an interest in the same surnames as I. Looking forward to hearing from anyone who has the same surnames of interest. Hi Neil, Sorry I am late replying to your query. A couple of names in your query have aroused my interest, although I am not a descendant of any. Would your Squires family include William Squires who married Ellen Richardson Grant in 1873 and then her niece Esther Grant in 1895 in the Shelford area? William's sister Amy also married Ellen's brother Richard in 1872. (I am descended from Ellen and Richard's brother, William). Also do you have a George Urquart who lived in the Colac region and had two children, George and James, who were buried in Colac in 1891?
