    3. Hi Folks, This is just a friendly reminder for this mailing list - every year List Admins realise that a LOT of people get a new computer / internet access for Christmas and we get a LOT of newbies joining mailing lists who have no idea about the do's and don'ts and guidelines for using mailing lists. So, remember, we were all new at one stage and we all made mistakes (still do!) so be patient, try to set good examples and most importantly be friendly and helpful. And for those who may have forgotten, remember some of the basics ............... Geelong & District Mailing List Guidelines ........ http://www.zades.com.au/geelong/gdmail.htm Crossposting (same message to multiple lists) is NOT a good idea (unless of course you're a List Admin for multiple lists! <vbg>)! Bad language and flaming are frowned on and will probably result in instant removal from the list. Always use Plain Text for Mailing Lists (not html / fancy backgrounds / non-standard text etc.) Edit replies - don't leave all the text of all the previous threads of the message in your reply ....... remove as much of the original message from your reply as practical but include sufficient so that the thread (and potentially sender) of the previous message(s) is obvious. BE FRIENDLY and HELPFUL - you never know when someone will return the favour! Have a lovely Christmas everyone ............ Susie Zada, List Admin
