Was there an area of Geelong known as Cornwall? I have a ancestor noted as b. Cornwall 1853 whilst his parents were mosty definately in Geelong, Chilwell in fact!! I have received information in relation to the old Grovedale Hotel of the Geelong Gun Club holding an event at Cornwall. TIA Carollyn Williams
Sorry Carollyn - never come across the word 'Cornwall' before around Geelong. If you have a date for the Gun Club event I will check sale notices about that time - often new housing 'estates' were given their own special name. regards, Pam Jennings ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carollyn Williams" <wisteria@netspace.net.au> To: <AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, August 13, 2003 1:58 AM Subject: [GEELONG] Cornwall > Was there an area of Geelong known as Cornwall? Hi Carollyn There is a Cornwall in Tasmania. Any chance they may have arrived in Tasmania and then moved to Victoria?
