    3. Hi Paulette, Don't spend too much time looking at the PRO Vic shipping as that does not include people arriving in Vic from Van Diemens Land. The Bellarine Historical Society has a heap of information on the HANCOCKs from our own records as well as different bits submitted by descendants. According to what I have here, William HANCOCK and Rebecca STANNARD were both on the Royal George which arrived in Hobart 5th February 1837. They were married in Hobart 11th September 1837. I have Mary Jane's birth as 16th April 1838 - think that looks like a shotgun job! <vbg> but I'm wondering if perhaps the date you have for William Henry might be a baptism date? I've got 17th February 1841. Or else we have the wrong date! William, Rebecca and Mary Jane came to Vic from VDL on the Charlotte in 1839 - I haven't followed up the date but the Charlotte did many trips in 1839 between Launceston and Melbourne. Hope that helps ....... 3. Hi Susie Can you tell me where I can find the shipping list VDL to Victoria, I am looking for the arrival into Victoria of Frederick Allen, who was sent to VDL, and Majory Luke. They were married in Geelong in 1845. As I cannot find Majory on any shipping list She may have first came to VDL first. thanks Caroline ----- Original Message ----- From: "Susie Zada" <szada@zades.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, November 10, 2003 3:30 PM Subject: Re: [GEELONG] HANCOCK > Hi Paulette, > > Don't spend too much time looking at the PRO Vic shipping as that does not > include people arriving in Vic from Van Diemens Land. > > The Bellarine Historical Society has a heap of information on the HANCOCKs > from our own records as well as different bits submitted by descendants. > According to what I have here, William HANCOCK and Rebecca STANNARD were > both on the Royal George which arrived in Hobart 5th February 1837.
