Unfortunately it was a one off and the Archdeacon doesn't like looking up records as he feels he has enough to do all ready. I was going to suggest you e-mail Coleen Jones at the Heritage Centre as they have a lot of the Christ Church marriages, but unfortunately Coleen is in hospital. So if you can give me the information off list I will see what I can do for you Dianne Hughes
Emma Hoddinott and Charles Horsey had their marriage at Christ Church Geelong. Would you be able to tell me if any of their children were christened at that location? Thanks Dean Melbourne First Generation 1. Emma Hoddinott. Born in 1836 in Frome,Somerset, England. Emma died in 17 Railway Place, South Melbourne from kidney Disease on 13 Feb 1882; she was 46. Buried on 14 Feb 1882 in Melbourne General Cemetery. C of E EE 944. There are about 12 or 13 George HODDINOTTS of child bearing age, if we include Ann's own father George, born 1792. A likely contender, given the Hoddinott tendency to marry cousins, is Ann's cousin George Hoddinott, who was baptised on 12 November 1820 at Witham Friary. He was the son ofAnn's father's brother, John Hoddinott, who married Maria BUTLER and had Bollow Farm for many years. Cousin George went on to marry Elizabeth PHILLIPS of Malmesbury, Witshire, and to have a large family. No evidence of a link though. On 29 Dec 1857 when Emma was 21, she first married Charles Appleby Horsey, son of George Horsey (1807-1877) & Mary Appleby (1810-1847), in Christ Church Moorabool Street Geelong.
