There is also a site which has transcriptions of old newspapers http://www.oldnewscopy.com/ There is also a Fiche entitled something like "arrivals in Victoria from domestic ports" It is fairly basic generally listing the family name and things like Mrs ?? and children.. Through a process of elimination I've found my convicts leaving Hobart Town and arriving in Geelong. My convict child (Jane Hewitt) was born in Hobart Town between 1838 - 1840. I don't think her parents ever married. Her father had left a family in England. Can you post details of how you went about contacting the Tas Archives please.
