    3. Has anyone had success in accessing employee registers at a Post Office? My father left school at Pyramid Hill in 1915. He joined the Post Office (PMG?) some time afterwards - it was his first job - but I do not know at which Post Office he started work. Until very recently, I assumed it would have been the Pyramid HiIl office, but now I have my doubts. One other option is Creswick. Allan G. Jamieson AOK Innovations Pty. Ltd.

    3. There used to be the dual system of"Official" and "non official" Post Offices. The Official ones werestaffed by Government employees whilt the others were contractors who owned their own building. If your rel went to work in the PO I would say itwas likely to be bendigo or Echuca or one of the bigger towns. My family has worked in both systems. AND some of my family lived on the Durham Ox Rd Pyramid Hill in the 1870s, next to the Williamsons.
