Hi Caroline, I'd be interested in any reference you have to Tuckfield school - I presume "1847" is the date? Previous research re Tuckfield chapel, Tuckfield parsonage and Tuckfield cemetery have led us to Drysdale which for a period was known as Tuckfield. In fact there was a letter dated October 1854 from William Butters applying "on behalf of a number of the inhabitants of Tuckfield" for a grant from the Denominational School Board for a school on land granted to the Wesleyan Church by the Government for school purposes. A detailed conservation management plan was produced by Alan Willingham on the Tuckfield chapel and parsonage in Wyndham Street Drysdale. Unfortunately all buildings are long gone but some good photographs, plans and history. I wonder if this is the Tuckfield school you're referring to? Regards .......
