    3. I have recently described to this mailing list so I can pick the brains of the locals. As a Western Australian I find the Alexander Library and WAGS lacking in Victorian "Local History" detail. So I am wondering if anyone can help answer the following question: I have a copy of a shipping list that says Hardie's were at Lake Connewarre. A website states that Tait had it. So I am assuming the shipping list meant Barwon Downs. The question is "Was Hardie the 'owner' of Barwon Station in 1854?' Thanks in anticipation Liz Darcey ps Hello's to Pam Jennings and Jeff Hester

    3. Hi Liz - the shipping list certainly didn't mean Barwon Downs as this is about 7 miles from Birregurra which is an hour from Geelong. Many stations along the Barwon River & tributaries used the name so perhaps comeone can confirm the Connewarre 'Barwon' you are seeking. 3. Hi Liz, The website you mention, would you mind giving it to me, my ggrandfather Robert Hill Kinnear I believe was on Connawarre about that time, is there any mention of him on your shipping list? He left Scotland and came into Victoria between 27 October 1851 (when their infant son was christened in Scot.) and 15 September 1852 when their 4 yr old daughter died on " Ballenee" (north of Ballan). I have searched high and low and cannot find them on any shipping list. Thanks in anticipation Cheers Eve Anderson Another from W.A. ---- Original Message ----- From: "Bill Darcey" <billandliz@ozemail.com.au> To: <AUS-VIC-GEELONG-DISTRICT-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, February 29, 2004 2:06 PM Subject: [GEELONG] Lake Connewarre > I have recently described to this mailing list so I can pick the brains of the locals.
