HI, Thanks for information. Sarah seems to be a wildcard. Do you have any further information on Henry Ellis? Do you have a Sarah Erickson in your line? All I have is what is listed below. Look forward to hearing from you again. Dean Name: Henry William Ellis Marriage: 1876 Spouse: Louisa COOMBS Birth: 1850 Ceres, Victoria, Australia. Death: 3 Mar 1922 Newtown, Geelong, Victoria, Australia Age: 72 Father: Henry COOMBS (1822-1903) Mother: Ann HODDINOTT (1818-1884) Last Modified: 3 Jan 2004 Created: 4 Jan 2004 Name: Thomas Henry ELLIS Birth: 1883 Father: Thomas ELLIS Marriage: 4 Aug 1913 Somerset Spouse: Mary Taylor HODDINOTT, GG Granddaughter Birth: 1869 Father: John HODDINOTT (1842-1921) Mother: Martha TAYLOR Name: Samuel WEEKES1 Birth: 12 Apr 1829 Bexley, Kent, England Death: 17 Mar 1891 Lyman, Madison, ID Age: 61 Christen: 6 Nov 1829 Bexley Parish, Welling, Kent, England2 Burial: Mar 1891 Archer, Madison, ID Father: Sr. Robert WEEKES Sr. (1790-1853) Mother: Mary Ann BALDRY (1799-1888) Other spouses: Mary Eliza SAWYER Marriage: 30 Mar 1867 Spouse: Sarah ERICKSON1 Birth: abt 1831 Notes for Samuel WEEKES BABTISM: 1 SEP 1850 ENDOWMENT: 14 JAN 1865 SEALED/PARENTS: 15 JAN 193824 SEP 1884 25 SEP 1884 Merged General Note: Samuel was born in either Bexley, Welling or East Wickham, Kent ,England. On Samuel's brother Benjamin, you only have is birth date. He died on 13 Jun 1852 - accidentally drowned while crossing the Platt River (somewhere between the states of Nebraska and Wyoming, I think). Samuel Weekes' father Robert was age 60 when he came over. He was in poor health and died somewhere near Fort Laramie, Wyoming. Samuel's Sister, Elizabeth, married John Heath on 31 Jan 1847. The book says they had several children before moving to Australia. We don't have any information on this line of the family. I wonder if they moved to your part of Australia, since the family was close to the Sawyers????? After all, Samuel married Mary Eliza Sawyer and their son Robert Friend Weekes married Mary Eliza's niece, Louise (daughter of William Sawyer IV, and Anne Cohen). Anyway, it's a possibility. regarding your record on Samuel Weekes - below: Samuel Weekes died in Lyman, Madison County, Idaho on 17 Mar 1891 and was buried in Archer, Madison, Idaho. Samuel married Mary Eliza Sawyer in Kent, England (not Salt Lake City) - remember, Samuel and his wife, Mary Eliza came to America with brother in law, Charles Jones and brother, Benjamin. According to the Weekes/Munns Family Book, Charles Jones' wife, Mary Anne Weekes didn't come over to America until 1853 - "thus Mary Ann was the first Weekes to actually set foot in Salt Lake City" (since Samuel stayed in Nebraska to earn money to come west, and Benjamin drowned on the way). This is about all I know of the family. Hope this helps. Karren Brown Mary Eliza and her husband, Charles Jones and wife Mary Ann Weekes & Benjamin Weekes left England sailing on the "Ellen Maria," from Liverpool, 7 February 1852. After reaching New Orleans they continued by river steamer up to the Mississippi River to St. Louis, Missouri. Here they were met by Elder Abraham Smoot who acted as agent for The Perpetual Immigration Fund Saints, which numbered 182, and purchased supplies for the families to emigrate to Utah. However, Samual and Mary Eliza stayed in the east. Several years after the other family members arrived in Utah Samual wanted to come West to join his mother and brothers and sisters in Utah. Samual, Mary Eliza and family came from Nebraska to Smithfield, but later moved to Lyman, Bingham County, Idaho, making their home just a little way east of the store at Archer, adjoining the old Charles Briggs place. The fifth child of Samual and Mary Eliza was named in honour of his brother who was instrumental in getting the family to the West. This child was named Lorenzo Sidney. He eventually moved his family to Swan Valley. Karren Brown is his great-grandaughter. Sources 1.
