Hi Robyn, Lang brought out three shiploads of immigrants to Victoria and three shiploads to Queensland, plus there were 26 dispatched on the Duke of Portland which sailed to Sydney in 1850 - that's the closest I could find to anything mentioning "Portland" !!! His emigration scheme was only first mooted in 1845. In 1837, "he (Lang) was able to pursuade the British Government to despatch some 4,000 Scots in 18 ships to New South Wales." - this was part of the Highland and Island Emigration Scheme, not Lang's emigration scheme. I presume this was when your family came out? Sorry - can't help any more on those voyages. The ships Lang was responsible for ......... Larpent, Travancore and Clifton to Vic Fortitude, Chaseley and Lima to Queensland He also landed "22 young men" in Sydney - they were to train for the ministry - they were on the Duke of Portland in 1850. Hope that helps .......
