    3. Hi! I seek information on Mervyn Mann, the first manager of the Union Bank in Geelong in 1842-1845. He was also in Geelong in 1852-1855. Mervyn had been the accountant in Launceston since the bank's foundation in 1838, and had earlier been an employee of the Van Diemen's Land Co. from 1832 or earlier. He is said to have married Ellen Jenkisson from Limerick and is known to have had at least three children, Mary Emily Florence (m. 1 John Binny, m. 2 John Ferguson), Annetta (m. William Dines of Geelong in 1846), and a son Mervyn who died early and is buried in Geelong. Both daughters moved to Brisbane and further details are available. I have only found references to Mervyn Snr in the Clyde Co. Papers, and a book on "The Hentys". Family anecdote suggests he died during a return voyage to England abt 1855. Any connections or suggestions for further sources would be welcomed. Janice
