    3. Hi Susie and List Members, I must say that with the majority of my mother's side of the family coming from Geelong and areas I can not say that I lay claim to any family members who played for VFL or AFL Geelong. Sad as it may seem. I do NOT barrack for Geelong, BUT I did scream today for them. After all I WAS born in Geelong, so part of me feels happy for them. I have yet to speak to my Nana who has been a Geelong supporter ALL her 91 years, but I bet she is one happy lady. Maybe one day when I have a few more family lines done I may yet find a Geelong player in there. That said I can say that my father "played" football for the Geelong Reserves in 1967. He played at the time of Doug Wade, Polly Farmer and Peter Pianto (I think that's his name?). Does any one on this list lay claim to any Geelong players, past or present? Good on the CATS....... Long live Geelong. Melissa.

    3. Yes, My Dad played in the 1951 and 1952 premierships , Russell Middlemiss and my brother Glenn played for Geelong too. Dad tells great stories about the early days of the Footy Club. In those days it was something that was done on a Saturday as they had other jobs. We lived in Russell St Chilwell just near Kardinia Park and Saturdays for a home game were a constant stream of people on the way to the game. Dad did his cartilege at age 24 and that was the end of his playing days. He goes to the Home games and sits with his mates in the little old past players stand Chris On 29/09/2007, at 7:13 PM, BJ & MJ Hallyburton wrote: > Hi Susie and List Members, > > I must say that with the majority of my mother's side of the family > coming from Geelong and areas I can not say that I lay claim to any > family members who played for VFL or AFL Geelong.
