    2. Hi Suzie I saw a discussion about the above on rootsweb between you and others and wondered if there is a list of people who resided/registered at the depot, please? Also, is the Geelong Heritage centre open at the weekend as I live in Mansfield and work during the week? 3. Hi Liz, Second question first! The Geelong Heritage Centre doesn't open on weekends. For opening hours, check out their web site - there is a link from our Geelong & District Research Centres web site ............ http://www.zades.com.au/geelong/gdresc.htm And the Immigration (not Emigration) Depot - to my knowledge there are no registers of people who went there - the only references I've seen are "To the depot" on passenger disposal lists. For a good background on the Emigration Depots (England) and the Immigration Depots (Victoria), you should look at Keith Pescod's two books ... "Good food, bright fires & civility : British emigrant depots of the nineteenth century" and "A Place to lay my head : immigrant shelters of nineteenth century Victoria" Excellent books!
