Hi Am wondering if any of you can help or point me in the right direction. I am trying to find out information about a James Christopher (or Christopher James) FOALKES. I know he was in Geelong (I think in New Town) in 1844 and 1845 (from the Baptism records of his children - Mary Ann and James). He was married to an Ellen CROOKE (although I don't know when or where they married). Beyond this I have little information. My question is two fold: 1. Has anyone else got links to or have any information on the FOALKES' of Geelong. 2. I live in the UK (but return to Melbourne once a year) so am unable to spend a lot of time searching archives myself - can anyone suggest the best places to look for this period of time to try and find more information about James and also the best places to look to see if I can establish if there might be a convict connection (I have found records for 2 James FOALKES who were convicts at the right sort of time but have no way of making a definite connection.)
