Richard, Union street (Lunacy) nee Patey Both had taken a ride in a cart to Mt Moriac and on the way home stopped for a drink at the Belmont Hotel Eugenia had been severely assaulted by Richard and when they stopped she ran to the Toll House for help. She stated that Richard had fallen from a cart some time age and hurt his head The doctor advised that he avoid liquor He had also become very excitable since he had been in gaol for lunacy.
