Thank you Wendy! I'm very grateful - that's definitely the right person, as the address in Highton is spot on. I'd tentaively had her down as the Jane HONEYCOMBE who arrived in Victoria on the MARIA HAY in July 1854, but have no confirmation of this, except that her age (28 in 1854) fits the "in her 85th year" on her tombstone (died April 1910), IF we assume that the phrase really means "aged 85", as so many people use it. But it's not watertight. Her connection with South Australia is new to me though. Laurence's brother Caleb is said to have arrived in Victoria from Adelaide. I've checked an on-line shipping list for SA 1851, but not seen any HONEYCOMB or MOUNTJOY there. Does the GEELONG CORNISH book give any sources for its information (and did Jane travel with her father William? There's always further to go, isn't there!) I appreciate your help. Best wishes Marion
Hello Marion The referal to SA is Lawrence's arrival.
