The Friends of the Geelong Heritage Centre are currently compling a booklet listing all ratepayers in Geelong in 1850 when the Geelong Town Council was first formed. As well as their names etc, we are also including a glimpse of life in Geelong in 1850 - businesses, deaths, births, schooling, churches, shipping, house sales, sport & entertainment etc etc. If anyone has connections to these auctioneers of the time, I would be delighted to include infor in the book.
