    1. [GEELONG] Re PITTARD surname
    2. Janette Pfeifer
    3. Hello to Anne from Cairns & Dorothy, It's Janette Pfeifer here from Victoria. In my connected files I have 2 PITTARD females both married to the same person. I see your Pittard's are from Walcott, where's that, I can't find it on the atlas I have?. I have a Mary PITTARD born 1830 Somerset married 5.9.1850 in South Petherton to John FOLLETT born 1827 also in South Petherton. Mary was a glover living at 52 Watergore, South Petherton as at the 1851 census & John & Mary had 6 children from 1852-1866. I haven't got her death date but John married again June 1/4 of 1869 in Martock, Somerset to an Elizabeth or Martha PITTARD born c1833 possibly a sister of Mary. John & Elizabeth had 3 children from 1870-76. A FOLLETT family relation of John above came to Victoria on the "Sea" 20th August 1851 departing from Plymouth & settled in Torquay, Victora. their son John Samuel (Jack) FOLLETT was born 1875 Torquay, Victoria & married 27.9.1900 Skene Street, Newtown, Geelong, Victoria to Ada Alice CHANT born 1873 Newtown. John (Jack) & Ada were my late Mum's uncle & auntie. My Mum was Winifred nee CHANT. Regards, Janette Pfeifer nee GRUNDY born Geelong. (from Warragul South, Victoria)

    3. Walcot is very close to The Circus, Bath, so although it was a separate parish, it was in fact pretty much in the heart of Bath. 1. [GEELONG] Mary Pittard / Martha Pittard & John Follett

    3. Hi Janette, well, there's often a surprise in store for us locals at Bellbrae - now I can add a Gundry relative. Have you heard the latest about the proposed subdivision on Gundry's Road? Anyway, back to business, now that the world knows - thank you Anne - that my filing is in a box I have found the Follett connection. Generally my Pittards are from Drayton, Somerset. Yes, Mary Pittard b: 2/11/1829 to John Pittard 2nd, and Elizabeth (could be Callard, Templeman or Latty). She married John Follett on 5/9/1850. I don't have Mary's death info either, but I do have the 2nd marriage of John Follett to Martha ?. Can we assume it is Mary's sister Martha - date of birth is correct, so too are her parents' sirst name names. Unless further proof comes to light, I think we can. Now, I don't think the world will want any attachments, so if you'd like to give me your address, when I get this stuff computerised, I can send it to you. regards dorothy
