Hello Kaye, I have tried to find info on Thomas Gillett who married the widow Elizabeth Jane Pittard (Ballantyne)in 1880. Thomas Gillett, supposedly born in Scotland, died in Geelong 1882, buried Eastern Cemetery, Geelong. He was the registered ratepayer of land on the Portarlington Road, Moolap from 1871-1882; he was a Thatcher/Farmer. There are many Gillett families around Geelong and Lara. I have made contact with three and they either don't know, or don't want to know about Thomas.
