Hi listers, My ancestor Spencer Clarke and hi ssecond wife Mary Ann nee OSborne, were at one times the publicans at this establishment. I gathered this inforamtion from 1) Spencer Clarke's death certificate, 1916 2) Geelong Cemeteries burial Index 1916 3) Son Spencer Osborne Clarke's WW1 enlistment papers.1916 I have current photographs of the hotel in Newtown but I have little information about the hotel in the period up to 1916. I have no idea how long Mary Ann styed there after Spencer's death and would be interested to know if there are any records which could assist me in finding more about the hotel and its residents at this time.
