Hello Susie, Wel, today I went in with my camera, Pam screwed it to the stand on the table and brought in a ladder so I could check through the viewfinder (an SLR does not use the screen on the back). Very awkward, I think I may need to put the stand on the floor... whatever, my back gave out and I must have accidentally touched one of the tiny buttons on the body ... and every image was blurred, so I've been transcribing them by hand. Anyway, here are the lists for the Geelong Schools, teachers working as at 31 June 1878. VPRS 880/po Unit 63. GEELONG Newtown McKeegan, James, master, salary £100. Ada, maybe try using the timer on your camera to take the photo, may eliminate the shake if you dont have a remote. I cant imagine standing on a ladder balancing and trying not to shake is easy. sometimes on close ups I may need to focus manually to get the best picture. then the camera does not need to try and focus each time. and if the screen and stand dont move it should be ok once one is. on books ,if up close sometimes the bends in the page make some in focus and some not. I found sometimes on screens put something like a small piece of paper with dark spot or cross on the screen to focus on. Even just hold it there while focussing in dim light can help. another way if you are too close for the lens, try putting camera on highest setting and moving back a little, then zoom in later on on the picture.sometimes works. hope it may help Linda ----- Original Message ----- From: "Ada Ackerly" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, July 24, 2007 6:07 PM Subject: Re: [GEELONG] Ada and School / Teacher Files Hello Susie, Wel, today I went in with my camera, Pam screwed it to the stand on the table and brought in a ladder so I could check through the viewfinder (an SLR does not use the screen on the back).
