    3. Hi Susie, A message to the sick ... hang in there, the sun will soon be shining! And to Geelong friends: John BOUCHIER I have found, claims he was a native of Clare, claims he arrived in Sept 1854 and, because he is unemployed "is deprived of attending any place of religious devotion". I didn't know they charged to enter church ??? I'm trying not to be waylaid in my indexing of applications to the National Schools Board 1854-1862 for employment, but the persistance of this chap caught me. He even wrote to the Board to say that, on a visit to Kyneton he had met some of his old countrymen and, as he wished to drink to their health and to old times in Ireland, he requested the Board to send him an order on the Kyneton bank to facilitate this! So I don't think he is your lime-kilns chap, which is disappointing for me, because now I'll be tempted to interrupt the work on the index to satisfy my curiosity. Jenny Carter (whom I met at the Dead People's Society on Sunday), cannot understand that I have not got into shipping and BDMs and Asylums and I tried to explain my self-discipline to complete the indexing in hand. I don't think she was convinced. How could I not try to find the answers? Anyway, a real find. A listing of all the teachers employed in 1858 in National Schools. I'll draw off all the Geelong ones probably tomorrow, and type them up in a message. Its in VPRS 880/p0 unit 63 ... but I have it booked for aweek or two, so don't any of you enthusiastic Geelong girls try to take a look for a couple of weeks, please? please? If I can work out how to use my SLR digital camera I'll probably photograph all the sheets, both the general list and individual schools, and type them in at home. That will be quicker than my handwriting and then typing them in later, as I usually have to do. About 110 pages to photocopy at VPRO rates of 60 cents per page is out of my league. Having fun with the teachers, with a short break from indexing the "Non-Issued Probates and Admins" I'll have 1851-1908 of those finished some time next week, if I can use my SLR Digital on the school files and quickly return to the probates. I'm way behind because I lost the use of my "good" arm for over 6 months, but it is behaving itself slightly at the moment, so my one-handed typing has resumed and I can hold a pencil, too! I've told it to behave, I just won't put up with this slackness. Regards Ada Ada Ackerly.
