Does anyone have a copy of the book South Barwon 1857 - 1985 I am searching for the Jorgensen family and have found the name on the index for the books for the Geelong area. Hello Kaye In these pages, the book describes the development of settlement in Belmont. This section is about the subdivision of the last 60 acres of Dr Thomson's pastoral run, "Kardinia", which by the 1890s was "confined between Colac Road [ie High Street], Thomson Street, and Mount Pleasant Road" - and one should add the Barwon River as its north boundary. The name Jorgenson is among others who are listed in the ratebooks in 1910, though not having been there in 1906 - "perhaps some 25 houses in all". I hope this is of some help. Good hunting! Marion
