Dear List members, MANY THANKS to the ppl who replied to my post about the place name of "Watta" After more searching and "head hitting" I found a mention of the man I was searching for and low and behold he died in Wangarratta (I have yet to obtain a certificate to see for sure). His wife died a few yrs after him and she died in Geelong. I and my cousin had no idea that the family had been in the Wangarratta area so we were searching the "Watta" as being around Geelong. That will teach us a lesson to look much further afield than you think. Now it opens up more questions than we may ever find answers too. For example, were the couple in question together at the time? Had they separated, did they live in the Wangarratta area for some time? These are questions for my cousin to track down now and do some more research on. (my cousin's father and my father were brother's this side I'm helping her with is her mother's side, so a SIDE branch of my own tree but fun helping out to research anyhow). The family in question is by the name of DANDY. Durham Dandy and Elizabeth "Eliza" McComb (or other spellings have been found for her maiden name). Eliza Dandy died 1926 in Geelong. They married in 1875 (we think in Geelong). They had 11 children born in the area's of Ceres, Mount Moriac and Deans Marsh. MANY THANKS to you all, Melissa
